Bulls Back in the Ring
World markets surged again overnight, with local trade set to follow suit this morning. The domestic All Ordinaries index climbed 1.1% yesterday and index futures are pointing to similar gains today.
Overnight European shares rose to eight month highs spurred on by positive economic data and the decision top finally ratify the Greek bailout package. In the US growing retail sales set the positive tone, while an announcement by JP Morgan to lift its dividend and undertake a $15 billion share buy-back sent financial shares soaring.
Earlier in Europe ratings agency Fitch lifted Greece’s credit rating out of default to B-, while the German investor sentiment index shot up to its best reading since June 2010.
It could prove to be a big week on the market with wet blankets seemingly shelved for the moment.

Russian and South Korean scientists signed a deal yesterday to collaborate in recreating a woolly mammoth. The stem cell scientists have been able to access remains of the animal since global warming thawed Siberia’s permafrost. The plan is to use an elephant’s womb for delivery.
Controversial cloning pioneer Hwang Woo-Suk said of the project “This will be a really tough job, but we believe it is possible because our institute is good at cloning animals.”
South Korean experts have previously cloned a cow, a cat, dogs, a pig, a wolf and coyotes.
