Blogs. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them!
Well that’s some people’s take on it anyway. We see many customers who do have blogs and are not actively using them and some who would like to have a blog but don’t know whether it suits their business or even where to start. Then there’s a third category of businesses who don’t have them or want them and their answer is usually short and sweet “Why do I need one, I’m a business.” Well my question is “How can you be sure”?
The long and the short of it is – Yes, Blogging is good, unless you don’t have anything important to say, then just blogging for the sake of blogging is a real waste of your time and your readers time and could actually create a negative impression of your business.
So how do you Blog to get the best results?
Blogging is a terrific means of interacting with existing customers and potential customers in real time. It allows you to easily update what your business has been doing on a day to day or week to week basis. It can really make your company “human” and reach out to people at a relatively low cost compared to many other marketing means available.
It’s also a terrific tool for Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) because the more great and interesting information you put out about your business, its products and services, the more chance you have of gaining Organic or Natural listings on search engines like Google. Now tell me one business out there that wouldn’t want that, all for a few minutes a day Blogging.
If Blogging is so simple, why do you still need expert advice to get started?
Well of course if you dedicated countless hours of research and time into your Blog setup to learn all the tricks and get the best results you wouldn’t need any help, but who has the time to do that and still run a business. That is where Marketing Mechanics can help, we are expert Bloggers and it’s our business to help your business grow, so whether you have a Blog or are completely new to Blogging we can help get you results.
Here are some quick tips on creating blog content.
Make sure your content is current and up to date. Think about what would be important or interesting to your readers when you are writing your Blog Hyperlink and reference all you can and link back to areas within your site for more information. Talk about “now topics” that are current within your industry or the market in general
Don’t just blog for the sake of it, this can actually work the opposite of a successful Blog.
Blog regularly – keep readers coming back for more, this will also help with your SEO.
Provide useful information – Give a little to get a little is a great motto in any business. Great tips just like these ones really make people remember you.
Keep your blog entries to the point. Writing huge amounts of copy within the blog may turn readers off – if you have more technical information, upload it to your blog so they can read it if they want or link to more info on your site.
